The Silk Road Mountain Race has been on my radar for years. Kyrgyzstan was somewhere I have wanted to go for a while and once I heard about Silk Road, I knew I wanted to do it.
So I put an entry in for 2021, however with the complications of Covid, deferred until 2022.
A long time prepping and training for the race, talk has always been before or after Kyrgyzstan.
Anyway, the day came, 5th August. I said my goodbyes and my dad gave me a lift down to Manchester Airport, and after along wait to check in, I was waiting in departures.
After 2 flights, Manchester to Istanbul and Istanbul to Osh. I was in Kyrgyzstan on the morning of Saturday 6th August.
